Migration

General

What is the new token called?

The new token is called SYNT. This name change reflects our rebrand to Synternet and aims to enhance token recognition and alignment with our updated identity and vision.

Why migrate to another ERC20 token?

For security reasons, it is industry standard to separate migration and bridging processes. The migration to the ERC20 SYNT token is essential before bridging SYNT to Cosmos, as it ensures alignment and addresses the supply differences between the hard-capped NOIA and the inflationary Cosmos-based SYNT token. By first migrating from NOIA to ERC20 SYNT, we maintain a 1:1 ratio and establish a secure basis for the bridging event scheduled to begin on July 31st. On that day, staking will go live with rewards paid on every block on Cosmos. Until then, NOIA staking rewards will continue.

On which blockchain is ERC20 SYNT deployed?

The new token is deployed on the Ethereum Network. Please note that the ERC20 SYNT token acts as a stepping stone into the Cosmos ecosystem.

What is the new ERC20 token contract address?

Contract information is available here.

Is the new SYNT ERC20 token contract audited?

All migration and bridging smart contracts have been successfully audited by Certik. Over the past few months, we have collaborated closely with Certik to identify potential issues. We have successfully addressed all findings, and the formal report will be released in the coming weeks and will be available here.

Where can I buy & sell the new ERC20 token?

You can use the following exchanges to trade ERC20 SYNT: Gate.io, Huobi, and Uniswap. Kucoin will start supporting SYNT soon after. Please pay attention to exchange announcements and instructions.

Where can I find the old NOIA staking portal?

The NOIA staking portal is available here.

Why did the team not announce the new ERC20 token in advance?

To protect NOIA holders from potential scams and fraud attempts, we chose not to disclose this information prematurely.

Can I connect my Ledger or other hardware wallet?

You are able to connect any wallet that supports integrating with Metamask. Find instructions for Ledger here.

What happened to NOIA after migration?

Remaining NOIA tokens are no longer associated with Synternet in any way. All actions with NOIA, primarily the migration to SYNT, should have been taken in a year, which was reserved for the migration.

Timeline

How much time do I have to migrate?

The token migration was live for a total of one year, until June 30th, 2025.

What happens after the migration period?

Migration has finished on June 30th, 2025. It is no longer possible to migrate, deadline cannot be extended, because it was hardcoded into the Migrator smart contract.

SYNT Tokenomics

Will this affect the token price? What is the new price of the token?

The SYNT token was obtained via migration at a 1:1 ratio with the legacy token.

Does the maximum supply change?

In the ERC20 SYNT smart contract, there is a maximum supply of 2,500,000,000 tokens (compared to NOIA’s 1,000,000,000). This cap is implemented as a security measure because, with Cosmos-native inflationary tokenomics, there must still be a theoretical maximum supply. With the upcoming bridge to Cosmos, there’s a highly unlikely scenario where all Cosmos token holders simultaneously decide to transfer their SYNT back to Ethereum. Adding already accumulated Cosmos staking rewards to that equation means that more than 1 billion tokens could be bridged to Ethereum. To accommodate this theoretical scenario, our developers and auditors decided to set a maximum supply of 2.5 billion ERC20 SYNT tokens. This cap provides a safe ceiling for all potential scenarios, ensuring security while allowing for potential growth. It’s a sensible limit that we do not expect to reach within our lifetimes.

Does the token utility of the ERC20 token change?

The token utility of the ERC20 token remains unchanged until bridged to the Cosmos-based Synternet Blockchain.
